A nuclear decommissioning programme had reached a point where strong delivery performance on site was no longer matched by commercial control. 

Change management was incomplete, historic compensation events had not been properly captured, cost and programme reporting were unreliable, and the customer no longer had confidence in the forecast position. The programme was placed under a four-week stop order to restore control.

We rebaselined the programme, reconciled historic costs, rebuilt the financial reporting and application for payment process, and undertook a detailed review of contractual entitlement. 

The stop order was lifted at the end of the four-week period, historic compensation events were approved, the Target Price increased by £5 million, and restored customer confidence supported a further £10 million of additional scope.
